What is an abstract?

The abstract represents the summary of the scientific presentation that you will present during the session.

How to submit

Send your abstract by e-mail to vp.stiintific.craiova@sscr.ro, or upload it from your account — an upload is forwarded to the same address, so either route reaches the scientific committee.

Deadline: October 1st, 2026. Abstracts received after this date are not reviewed.

Presentation formats

Poster

  • Presented in digital or printed format
  • Size: A0 (841 × 1189 mm)

PowerPoint

  • Oral presentation format
  • Must follow the official TACSSYD presentation template — available from the Abstract Presentations page.

Structure of an abstract

All abstracts must be written in English.

Title

  • Written in CAPITAL LETTERS
  • Maximum 15 words
  • Should clearly state the purpose of the study

Authors

Must include:

  • Full names of all authors
  • Affiliations (university, department/institution, city, country)

Each paper may have:

  • 1 author
  • Maximum 2 co-authors
  • 1 scientific coordinator

Keywords

  • Maximum 6 keywords

Body

  • Maximum 350 words
  • The word count does not include title, authors, affiliations and keywords

Abstract types

A) Review / meta-analysis

  • Background — brief description of the topic and its importance.
  • Objectives — aim and hypothesis of the study.
  • Methods and materials — how the study was conducted and selection criteria.
  • Results — main outcomes and findings.
  • Conclusions — summary and interpretation of results.
  • Bibliography — mandatory references.

Important: must follow the PRISMA guidelines.

B) Original study

  • Introduction — background, significance, hypothesis and objectives.
  • Methods and materials — study design, subjects and data processing.
  • Results — main findings.
  • Conclusion — summary and implications of results.
  • Bibliography — mandatory references.

C) Case report

  • Introduction — context and importance of the pathology.
  • Case presentation — patient history, examination and investigations.
  • Discussion — comparison with literature and significance of the case.
  • Bibliography — mandatory references.

Important: must follow the CARE guidelines.

Submission rules

  • Abstracts are submitted by e-mail to vp.stiintific.craiova@sscr.ro, or uploaded from your account, which forwards them there.
  • The author must also be the presenter.
  • A presenting author cannot present more than one abstract.
  • An active participant may submit a maximum of 4 abstracts.
  • All submitted abstracts must address different subjects.
  • Only the latest version submitted before the deadline will be considered.

Presentation rules

Before the presentation

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before the session.
  • You must stay until the end of your section.

During the presentation

  • Language: English or Romanian

Time limits

  • Presentation (PowerPoint or poster): 7 minutes
  • Questions and answers: 3 minutes

Exceeding the time limit may affect the final score. Reading from paper notes is not allowed. Failing to respect any of these rules may lead to disqualification.
