About SSCR Craiova
Founded on March 17, 2008, out of the desire of a group of young students led by Dr. Mihai Ciorbagiu, SSCR Craiova became the third branch of an association that today counts over 60 active members locally.
Over the years, with the support provided by the faculty of UMF Craiova, SSCR Craiova has been able to continually develop. This progress made it possible to introduce workshops with a higher level of difficulty, offering students the chance to familiarize themselves with various surgical specialties.
The year 2018 was significant for SSCR Craiova, as it marked the year when our team, driven by the desire to create more opportunities for students and future doctors, as well as to foster a sense of community, organized the first edition of the Winter Surgery Conference. A project aimed to familiarize students with emergency medicine and traumatology, blending theoretical and practical knowledge with teamwork and collaboration.
The year 2018 also marked the founding of TACSSYD, a congress created specifically for students and young doctors. It was a huge accomplishment for our team of students, starting such a major event from scratch, which proved to be an important milestone in the educational journey of medical students and a platform for showcasing some of the most important topics in international surgery today.
The SSCR Craiova team has continued to grow, becoming increasingly united. Throughout our activity, we have created a community of students who share the same passion for surgery, and same principles: teamwork, dedication, professionalism and wanting to create a better future.
